Vabljeni v ponedeljek, 29. maja 2017, ob 16:15 v predavalnico F1, FMF UL, Jadranska 19, Ljubljana, kjer bo na Ponedeljkovem fizikalnem kolokviju dr. Maruša Žerjal (Fakulteta za matematiko in fiziko, Univerza v Ljubljani) imela predavanje z naslovom "Detection of young stars in large spectroscopic surveys". Vljudno vabljeni!
Detection of young stars in large spectroscopic surveys
dr. Maruša Žerjal
Faculty of Mathematics and Physics, University of Ljubljana
Stellar magnetic activity is a suitable age estimator for young solar-like stars. It manifests itself in a wide range of excess emission intensities in the strongest spectral lines. Today, in the era of large spectroscopic surveys, it is possible to identify a substantial number of young stars in the Solar neighborhood using efficient unsupervised classification algorithms. I will present a very large catalog of young stars in the RAVE survey and discuss the Galah and FunnelWeb surveys that hold a huge potential not only for the reconstruction of a recent nearby star formation events but also for the studies of young exoplanets and their environments around the nearest stars.
